This
week is an amazing chance to watch kids in action and it is
completely God's work! He has brought many people together
to offer this amazing experience at Nativity! ReNew is about
hope, opportunity, and service - kids will serve their community
and demonstrate that being green can be easy, faithful, and
fun!
We
are spending this week diving deep into the "Parable
of the Sower," found in Mark 4: 1-9. Each
day is spent on another aspect of the parable. By asking eco-questions
and spiritual questions every day we aim to grow in our faith
in God.
Check
our daily "ReNew News"
and read about what we have been doing! This is our daily
newsletter to let you know more about what is happening each
day. Included is information about the daily theme, our Missions
project, what the activities were, lyrics to songs, and more.
Please make sure you check them out. Our prayer is that you
will find time to have conversations with your child(ren)
about what they have learned about in the mornings and thus
continuing the faith growth in your homes beyond our week
of VBS.

This
year we have two great water mission projects we are going to
work on.

Each
morning, we will be doing a "noisy" offering.
The money that we raise will go towards the LWR
Fill the Well campaign. This
is a project through Lutheran World Relief where they are
raising 1 million dollars for programs that will bring plentiful
water to the world's poorest people. Check it out at www.lwr.org/water.
We
will also be collecting water bottles for Hearts with Hands.
In order to do the best for our environment, it is
important to not use these plastic bottles, as they either
end up in a landfill or use energy to recycle. We will be
encouraging the children over the week to use reusable bottles
as much as possible. That being said, we will be collecting
bottles of water for this organization! They will send the
water to disaster areas, where clean drinking water is not
readily available. Currently resources are being sent to Nashville
for those who suffered loss from the recent floods. Check
it out at www.heartswithhands.org
Watermark
will be with us during the week. We are excited
to have this group of four young adults join us this week
to help lead our music. They are an international ministry
team that has traveled throughout Denmark, Estonia, and the
United States. We will be able to enjoy their music each day
as we worship God! There will be drums, guitars, keyboard
.
What more can you ask for? Check out more information about
the team at www.youthencounter.org/Default.aspx?tabid=518
This
week is possible with God's and your support! By
your donations of time, talents, and treasure we are able
to pull all the small pieces together! THANK YOU!!!!
To help us be good stewards of God's Amazing Creation, we
are using less paper in communication between the church and
home and will utilize the website and email.
